Rate structure
The bill is based on a combined price for water: as user you pay not only for the supply of drinking water, but also for the removal and purification of the waste water.

Rate structure components
- The fixed charge is made up of 3 parts: drinking water, municipal contribution and supra-municipal contribution. This is your contribution to the administrative processing of your details and for the management and maintenance of the pipe network and the sanitation infrastructure.
- There is a reduction on the fixed charge for each resident. This reduction can never be greater than the fixed charge itself.
- The price per m³ is billed in 2 components: basic rate and convenience rate. The quantity of water that you pay for at the basic rate depends on the size of your family and the presence of accommodation units. You pay for the price of the drinking water as well as the municipal and supra-municipal contributions in the price per m³.
- Social customers receive a reduction of 80% on the overall amount of the bill.
How is your bill calculated in concrete terms?
- For families and other customers with the domestic rate
-
- Fixed charge
- Drinking water: you pay 50 euros (excl 6% VAT) per accommodation unit and receive a reduction of 10 euros per resident.
- Sanitation
- Municipal contribution: you pay 30 euros per accommodation unit and receive a reduction of 6 euros per resident.
- Supra-municipal contribution: you pay 20 euros per accommodation unit and receive a reduction of 4 euros per resident.
- NB: the reduction on the fixed charge can never be greater than the fixed charge itself.
- Price per m³
When determining how much water each customer receives at the basic rate, we take into account the number of residents and the presence of accommodation units.
You receive 30 m³ per accommodation unit and 30 m³ per resident at the basic rate. Consumption above this is paid at the convenience rate.- Example 1: a single person
A single person receives 60 m³ at the basic rate: 1 x 30 m³ for 1 accommodation unit and 1 x 30 m³ for 1 resident. Consumption above 60 m³ is calculated at the convenience rate. - Example 2: a family with 4 residents
A family with 4 residents receives 150 m³ at the basic rate: 1 x 30 m³ for 1 accommodation unit and 4 x 30 m³ for 4 residents. Consumption above 150 m³ is calculated at the convenience rate.
- Example 1: a single person
- The same principle applies in the case of associations of co-owners (VME) and collective water meters with domestic consumption:
- Example 1: a collective water meter with 6 accommodation units and 18 residents pays 720 m³ at the basic rate: 6 x 30 m³ for 6 accommodation units and 18 x 30 m³ for 18 residents. Consumption in excess of 720 m³ is calculated at the convenience rate.
- Example 2: a collective water meter with 16 accommodation units and 2 residents pays 540 m³ at the basic rate: 16 x 30 m³ for 16 accommodation units and 2 x 30 m³ for 2 residents. Consumption in excess of 540 m³ is calculated at the convenience rate.
- Calculating the social rate takes place in two steps: the fixed charge and the price per m³ are first calculated. Subsequently the overall amount of the bill is reduced by 80%.
- Fixed charge
- For customers with a non-domestic rate
-
- Fixed charge
- Drinking water: you pay 50 euros (excl 6% VAT) per accommodation unit or per water meter, with a reduction of 10 euros per resident.
- Sanitation:
- Consumers not subject to the charge:
- Municipal contribution: you pay 30 euros per accommodation unit, with a reduction of 6 euros per resident.
- Supra-municipal contribution: you pay 20 euros per accommodation unit or per water meter, with a reduction of 4 euros per resident.
- Consumers subject to the charge: the municipal and supra-municipal contributions are already included in the charge on water pollution.
- Consumers not subject to the charge:
- NB: the reduction on the fixed charge can never be greater than the fixed charge itself.
- Price per m³
A different rate structure applies to non-domestic customers: they pay the flat rate up to 500 m³. Anyone consuming in excess of 500 m³ of water is a bulk consumer and receives an individual rate for sanitation via the VMM.
