The meter number always starts with the number ‘8’, followed by 3 letters.

1. Meter number: this is the number of your water meter. Check that the last 4 digits are the same as the number on your meter reading request and on your annual consumption bill.
    
2. Meter reading: the black-and-white digits make up the meter reading that you need to submit. In this example, the meter reading to be submitted is therefore ‘1931’.

There are various types of water meters, which means the meter number will not be in the same place for every model.
