1. Meter number: this is the number of your water meter. Check that the last 4 digits are the same as the number on your meter reading request.
    
2. Meter reading: the black-and-white digits make up the meter reading that you have to submit. So in this example, the meter reading to be submitted is ‘1931’.

There are different kinds of water meters that show the black-and-white digits of the meter reading in another way. Depending on the type of water meter, the meter reading is made up of 4 to 7 digits.

Look at the digits of the water meter straight, not from above or below. This prevents reading the water meter incorrectly.
